Research Areas

The research areas of the discipline of computer science and technology include dig data computing and database theories, bioinformatics and computational biology, image and video processing, natural language processing, computer architecture and FTC, and pattern recognition. Software engineering discipline studies software service engineering, software engineering technology and software architecture, the credibility and reliability of software, intelligent software theory and machine learning, business intelligence and data mining. Cyberspace security discipline studies new cryptography and its applications, including contented-based information security, network security, system security and quantum information processing. In recent five-year period, the faculty has undertaken 366 research projects, in which there are 4 National Science and Technology Major Projects, more than 40 National Science and Technology Major Tasks, 63 projects of National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) (including 1 National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars and 4 key projects). The average annual research fund is about 108 million RMB with the total amount of 538 million RMB. Currently, over 200 research papers are published in peer-reviewed international journals per year, in which over 150 papers are SCl-indexed. Since 2001, the school has won 1 first prize for National Science and Technology Progress Awards, 1 second prize for National Natural Science Award, 11 second prizes for National Science and Technology Progress Award, 20 first prizes for Provincial/Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Award.
