Currently, the school has formed multi-level and -dimensional international strategies, with respect to joint training programs, international academic exchange, cooperation, joint labs, etc. Several programs are implemented persistently, including Distinguished Lectures Program of International Academic Masters, International Distinguished Courses Program of Well-known Universities & Enterprises, and International Joint Training Program of Well-known Universities & Enterprises. The school has partnership with more than 40 prestigious universities, research institutions and enterprises in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, Ireland, Sweden, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and so on.
In terms of education, the school has established more than 10 international joint training programs for undergraduate/graduate students with distinct universities, including Linkoping University in Sweden, Université Clermont Auvergne in France, University Bordeaux I in France. These programs have cultivated more than 300 graduate students.
In the International Distinguished Courses Program of Well-known Universities & Enterprises, over 10 famous scholars and industrial experts are invited annually to deliver lectures and improve the core and fundamental courses for undergraduate and graduate programs. So far, more than 40 courses have been provided in English.
The school has cooperated with some internationally recognized IT enterprises, and established international joint laboratories, including the HIT MOE-MS Key Laboratory of Natural Language Processing and Speech, the European Virtual Laboratory for Enterprise Interoperability China Pole. The school faculty also built bilateral/multilateral international cooperation research projects (Sino-America, Sino-Europe, Sino-Australia, China-United Kingdom, Sino-Japan, China-South Korea, etc.). Since 2010, the school has undertaken more than 100 international cooperation projects.
Thanks to the Distinguished Lectures Program of International Academic Masters, since 2010, the school has invited more than 300 internationally recognized academic scholars to deliver lectures or serve as adjunct doctoral supervisors at HIT, including 4 Turing Award Laureates
Young academic staffs and Ph.D. students in the school are encouraged to visit universities with high reputation or with famous computer discipline for short-term academic exchange. Every year, over 50 faculty members and 30 Ph.D. students attend international academic conferences, exchange events and short-term visiting.
