To deepen the reform of undergraduate education of the major of computer science, meet the national and social demand for computer talents, explore the modes of training computer talents, and formulate the training program for the development of computer talents, according to Guiding Opinions on Revision of Undergraduate Training Program of Harbin Institute of Technology (2022), Faculty of Computing held a series of seminars to discuss the formulation of the 2022 edition of the training program.

On April 23rd, 14: 00-18: 00 pm, the seminar on the formulation of the training programs for six subjects of Faculty of Computing was held in Room 618 of New Technology Building. Director Liu Ting attended the seminar and made a concluding speech. The seminar was presided over by Deputy Director Wu Xiangqian. Zhan Dechen, a national-level excellent teacher; Su Xiaohong and Liu Hongwei, two provincial-level excellent teachers; and Jiang Shouxu and Wang Kuanquan, experts of engineering education certification, were invited to attend the seminar. Other invited experts attended the seminar online.

Persons in charge of the six majors of computer science and technology, data science and big data technology, software engineering, information security/cyberspace security, Internet of Things engineering and artificial intelligence introduced the training objectives, positioning and curriculum system of their majors. The attending experts discussed the characteristics of the majors, the training positioning, the time to separate the majors, the setting of the curriculum of major categories, and the connection between the curriculum system of different majors, and proposed opinions and suggestions for the formulation and improvement of the training programs of the six majors.

On April 27th, Deputy Director Wu Xiangqian invited Professor Zhan Dechen and Yuan Yongfeng and Wu Rui, assistants to the teaching director of the Faculty of Computing, to conduct another research on the formulation of the training programs, and made arrangements for the research and the seminars.
