Dr. Che Wanxiang, associate professor of School of Computer Science and Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Doctoral Advisor, Visiting Scholar of Stanford University. Wanxiang Che’s main research area lies in Natural Language Processing (NLP). He has published more than 40 papers in high level journals and conferences, such as ACL, EMNLP and AAAI. The paper published in AAAI 2013 achieved the Outstanding Paper Honorable Mention Award. He has written two textbooks and translated another two ones. Wanxiang Che currently leads a National Natural Science Foundation of China, a National Key Basic Research Program of China (973) and a number of research projects. The Language Technology Platform (LTP) which he leads to develop has been shared by more than 500 institutes and has more than 5,000 users. LTP has also been licensed to Baidu, Tencent, Huawei and so on. In 2009, Wanxiang Che and his team achieved the first rank at the CoNLL Shared Task. He was an Area Chair of ACL 2016, Publication Chairs of ACL 2015 and EMNLP 2011. In 2015, he achieved the Google Focused Research Award; the second prize of Technological Invention Award in Heilongjiang Province in 2012; the first prize of the Qian Weichan Chinese Information Processing Science and Technology Award and the first prize of the Hanwang Youth Innovation Award in 2010.
