Zuo Wangmeng, professor, PhD supervisor. He received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Application Technology from the HIT in 2007. From July 2004 to December 2004, from November 2005 to August 2006, and from July 2007 to February 2008, he was a Research Assistant at the Department of Computing, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. From August 2009 to February 2010, he was a Visiting Professor in Microsoft Research Asia. His Ph.D. dissertation was achieved the China National Excellent PhD Thesis Award Nomination in 2010. He was supported by several promotive programs or funds for his works, such as the “Program for New Century Excellent Talents” of Ministry of Education (China) in 2012the Hong Kong Scholor in 2011. His current research interests include computer vision, deep learning, discriminative learning, image modeling and low level vision, and biometrics. Dr. Zuo has published more than 50 papers in top tier academic journals and conferences including IEEE T-IP, T-NNLS, T-IFS, Pattern Recognition, CVPR, ICCV, ICML, ACM MM, ECCV, NIPS. He is an IEEE Senior Member. Dr. Zuo is an Associate Editor of the IET Biometrics, the Guest Editor of Neurocomputing Special Issue on Smart Computing for Large Scale Visual Data Sensing and Processing, and the Guest Editor of Pattern Recognition Special Issue on Compositional Models and Structured Learning for Visual Recognition.
